I was orginally looking for Life Is What You Make It quotes and I found this You Can Have Whatever You Are Willing To Struggle For. At the moment that is way more fitting to my life.
At the moment I am in a fair amount of debt, more than I can be bothered calculating, I have no job, everything stresses me out, I want someone who has a girlfriend, I hate everyone and life would be so much easier if I pack up all my things and went home. But, I have done that before. I have given up and it got me know where. It got me to this point where I want to give it all up again.
I know I can get through this, I know that I am capable of being successful and when that day comes I will laugh at all of this and see it as character building. I will get through this, I will get a job, I will pay of my debts and if i don’t get the boy then hey it was never meant to be.
I hate that sometimes I forget what I am capable of. Last year I said I will be at soundwave for free, I worked hard and I got there. This year I said I will help out at Jurassic Lounge and work my hardest until they see my potential and pay me. Yesterday I got paid. I can achieve so much when I set my mind on it but sometimes the inner demons put so much self-doubt in my mind.
If we work hard we can honestly achieve anything. From now on I am going to work my hardest because I’m over this mediocre, in between life im currently living.
All you have to do is say yes. Go and try something new, you might learn something new, you might learn something about yourself that you didn’t know, you might change your whole attitude on life, you might me some amazing people, you might meet some awful people, you might fail, you might excel, you might meet your future partner. The possibilities of what could happen are endless but a lot more things will come your way if you are out there trying rather then sitting at home. At the end of the day if you try and give it your best shot you are succeeding.
SAY YES TO NEW THINGS AND GO TRY SOMETHING NEW.
I applied to write for tonedeaf.com.au before doing so I didn’t believe in myself. I also had no idea that i had the potential to be a really good writer. I am now reviewing soundwave plus multiple sidewaves. I get emails on a daily basis asking if i want to interview certain bands, sometimes I just get emails complementing me on my writing. I have come this far all because I said “Yes, I am going to try.”
Recently I also said yes to helping out at an event. I have already met some amazing people and have learnt a bunch of new things like setting up lighting. Each week I feel more comfortable and having to interact with a crowd is making me way more confident. I am also crushing on the supervisor so hard.
Go try something new, what do you have to lose?
Also if you want to read some of the things I have written here are two links: The Used and Incubus. Also i realise there are mistakes in them so don’t bother about pointing them out. I am not perfect, I try my hardest and my skills are improving.
Right now I am struggling with my writing. I have so many articles I need to write but I am lacking motivation and inspiration. So naturally I googled ”How to concur writers block?” I tend to google everything. Whilst googling I noticed some fantastic ways and some really annoying ones so I decided to make my own list.
- Re-Consider Your Writing Space. Make sure you are comfortable and in a space that you enjoy being in. Sometimes take a break go write in the park or in a coffee shop.
- Remember Why You Started to Write in the First Place. Write because you feel joy when a piece is completed. Write because that’s what you love doing. If you don’t love doing it then find a new hobby/job.
- Don’t Be Too Hard on Yourself. Don’t criticise your writing till the editing stage. Just let your thoughts flow.
- Read more. This is pretty obvious and I don’t feel like i need to elaborate on why you should read!
- Complete Writing Exercises or Creative Exercises. There are so many books out there which give you writing tasks or tasks to inspire you. Like our bodies need exercises so do our brains. Take time out of each day to write something or do something creative. Even if its just a blog post anything helps.
- Come back to it. If you are stuck go for a run, have a bath, read a book, start a new task. If you pressure yourself to sit there while ideas come they never will, you will just stress yourself out.
- Capture Ideas. Carry a notebook around with you and jot down any inspiration you come across or idea you have. You never know when this idea pool will come in handy.
- Establish A Routine. Try and write at the same time each day. Your brain will get used to it and automatically switch into writing mood.
- SLEEP. You need roughly 8 hours of sleep a day. You will feel much more refreshed and your brain will thank you for it.
